This latest painting is for The Hive's Tarot card group show this Saturday, in Los Angeles. Artist's in the show were randomly matched up with different Tarot cards. I got the "Strength" card.
A traditional strength card basically has an image of a woman with a lion. Click here to see an example. I guess I watched too many Saturday morning cartoons, and just defaulted to the lion from Banana Splits and Penelope Pitstop.
I think the more important question is: Why does Bob Marley's Buffalo Soldier (1980) sound like the Banana Splits theme song (1968)? You decide.
Title: "Saturday Morning Exodus"
Size: 11"x 14"
Medium: Acrylics on chipboard
p.s. On a completely different topic, if you want to see some great pictures from last month's Art Jam, check out Jesse Lenihan's Flicker account.
